Maria Rodriguez is a multifaceted Latina female with roots from her native country of Ecuador. Maria was raised in the Bronx – a borough with a wide array of diversity. She remains connected to the Bronx through her career in Health services; helping those who have been marginalized and disenfranchised in society.

Maria has always been a true advocate for the HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ community. At Argus Community, Inc., Maria developed a career in case management services. Starting as Case Manager in 2000 with a client base of 35 HIV/AIDS participants and 4 staff, Maria strategically increased her staffing and supervisory oversight to 30 staff, while working with over 300 patients/participants to date, in 2019.

As the Vice President and Director of Care Coordination and HIV Services at Argus Community, Inc., she is actively involved in the community (with a specific focus on the Bronx). In 2019, she was awarded by the Bronx Borough President office of Reuben Diaz Jr. the Certificate of Merit for commitment and dedication in reaching out to the LGBTQ community in the Bronx.

Maria is a Community Advisory Board Member of the Bronx Community Health Network since 2015. She has received the Bronx Community Health Network Inc. – Community Partner Award. She has been recognized in 2017, as one of the 25 Most Influential Women of the Bronx. Maria obtained her MPA from Metropolitan College of New York, where she has been on the advisory board since 2016.
