CATCH Program

CATCH Program

Argus Community’s CATCH program provides free and confidential HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) testing, counseling, and referral services to individuals and human service agencies based in the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The CATCH Program is a five year federally funded grant program awarded through the Minority AIDS Initiative. The CATCH Program ensures that participants have access to high quality HIV/HCV testing with services provided by certified pre-test/post-test counselors. CATCH Program staff will conduct on-site agency and in-community testing at designated sites in the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
The program provides testing and counseling to participants so they can learn their HIV/HCV serostatus, and link and navigate those who test positive to medical treatment; those who test negative yet present as high risk are given prevention education and referral to prevention services. Bilingual Health Educators will also screen and assess for substance use (SUD) and co-occurring disorders (COD), and make referrals for individuals in need of various treatment modalities. Additional services available to organizations that participate include free on-site screening and referral for Hepatitis A (HAV) and B (HBV), health education groups, and smoking cessation counseling. Individuals may have an opportunity to receive incentives if they meet the criteria that requires further outcome follow-up.

Argus Community is highly experienced at providing coordinated care for persons newly diagnosed with HIV, and has been providing HIV/AIDS prevention education and access to treatment since 1992. Trained employees provide access to and coordination with a wide-range of services that include: HIV/HCV prevention and clinical management, as well as prophylaxis services including Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). Care is also coordinated via linkage agreements with community hospitals and local social service providers for individuals in need of primary care, dental and eye exams, mental health, and various levels of substance abuse services.
