Elizabeth L. Sturz - Chemical Dependence Outpatient Treatment Center

The Elizabeth L. Sturz Center is a medically supervised intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program for adults and adolescents seeking recovery services.

General Substance Abuse Treatment Services Include:

  • Individual Counseling
  • Group Counseling
  • Family Counseling
  • Parenting
  • Relapse Prevention
  • GED and Literacy for Adolescents (by Department of Education instructors)*
  • Recreation
  • Work Experience
  • Assistance with TASC, Probation/Parole, HIV/AIDS
  • Dual Diagnosis
  • Toxicology Monitored
  • Domestic Violence Alternatives (with alcohol/substance abuse issues)
  • DWI/DUI Alternatives
  • Anger Management

ADOLESCENT SERVICES*

The ELS center provides a day program for 140 high-risk school drop outs, ages 16-21, involved in substance abuse and anti-social behavior. Young individuals receive individual and group counseling, life skills training, Board of Education GED preparation, computer classes, job readiness, and employment training. The United States Department of Labor chose the program for national replication as "a model youth development program that works."   

 GED SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Proven instructional and test taking techniques
  • Certified teachers provide instruction in math, English, science, social studies, and computer
  • Gym, recreational and cultural activities offered
  • Credentialed counselors offer substance abuse prevention counseling, employment and college preparation
  • Career Guidance
  • Free breakfast and lunch daily

MEDICAID is gladly accepted and MEDICAID enrollment assistance is provided.
